Those who opposed strike will soon regret it, says Speaker

Assembly Speaker M.B. Rajesh here on Wednesday reiterated the right of workers to strike work.

Addressing the media on the sidelines of O.V. Vijayan’s death anniversary celebrations held at Thasrak ,near here, Mr. Rajesh said the right to strike work was being exercised all over the world.

"It was not a lightning strike. It was a strike against the anti-people policies of the government.  When a government harms the interests of its people, they will react. The strike is their rightful reaction," said Mr. Rajesh, responding to those who criticised the strike.

Those who opposed the strike on the ground that it affected the life of the people would soon regret it, the Speaker said.

He also alleged that there was a special media agenda behind portraying the strike as anti-people.
