Over six million disability benefit claimants have received the cost of living payment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The one-off payment of £150 is part of a wider support package worth up to £1,350 in some cases. It means 99 per cent of eligible claimants have now received their payment, with the 'few' outstanding payments due to be made by July 4.
The disability cost of living payment is being issued alongside four other payments to help support the most vulnerable households in the country amid rising costs and a worsening cost of living crisis. Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mel Stride MP, said: "Tackling high inflation remains our priority as this is the best way we can ease pressure on households and help them with the cost of living.

"By paying more than six million disabled people £150 in less than a week, we are delivering on our steadfast commitment to providing timely support for those who need it most."
Who will be able to receive the full £1,350 support?
According to the DWP, the five cost of living payments will cover vulnerable households, pensioners, and those living with physical and mental disabilities. Here's a breakdown of all the five payments and when they can be expected:
- £301 – First 2023/24 Cost of Living Payment – Already paid in the early summer for most claimants
- £150 – 2023 Disability Payment – Final payments issued by July 4, 2023
- £300 – Second 2023/24 Cost of Living Payment – during Autumn 2023
- £300 – 2023 Pensioner Payment – during Winter 2023/4
- £299 – Third 2023/24 Cost of Living Payment – during Spring 2024

To be eligible for the disability cost of living payment worth £150, you must have received a payment for one of the following during a yet unannounced qualifying period:
- Attendance Allowance
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- Disability Living Allowance for adults
- Disability Living Allowance for children
- Personal Independence Payment
- Adult Disability Payment (in Scotland)
- Child Disability Payment (in Scotland)
- Armed Forces Independence Payment
- War Pension Mobility Supplement
Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, Tom Pursglove MP, said: "We are ensuring that disabled people facing additional costs can access these extra funds as soon as possible, and I’m delighted the vast majority of payments have been successfully made to eligible people within just five working days. This will be backed up by further cost of living payments for benefit claimants in the coming months, showing this Government’s commitment to providing millions in support for the most vulnerable in our society."
