Thornton Manor drone footage shows devastating scale of blaze damage

Devastating drone footage shows the true scale of damage caused to Thornton Manor after a fire ripped through the building.

The popular wedding venue on Manor Road, in Thornton Hough, Wirral, went up in flames shortly after 9pm on Saturday as fire crews rushed to the scene.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to a fire on Saturday involving the boiler room which was put out before fire crews arrived.

However after further inspection, crews found the fire had spread to the roof space.

Rebekah Vardy's private messages about Coleen Rooney read out in court

Rebekah Vardy's messages about Coleen Rooney have been made public more than two years after the fellow footballer's wife publicly accused her of leaking stories to the press.

In a Twitter post in October 2019, Mrs Rooney accused Mrs Vardy of leaking stories to The S*n after carrying out a months-long "sting operation".

Mrs Vardy, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie, denies the accusations and is suing Mrs Rooney for libel.

At the start of a two-day hearing on Tuesday, the High Court heard that WhatsApp messages between Mrs Vardy and her PR and friend Caroline Watt had been disclosed ahead of the trial.

Former Debenhams store to become go kart track as Liverpool ONE plans approved

Plans for the former Debenhams site to be converted into a leisure facility that could include a go-karting track have been given the green light.

Liverpool Council’s planning committee gave the go-ahead for proposals at the now vacant store on the Liverpool ONE estate to be repurposed into a leisure and retail venue, despite concerns it would turn the city into “an amusement arcade.”

As part of the scheme, an indoor electric go-kart circuit could be installed at the site off South John Street and Lord Street.
