Thor Bjornsson's next fight: 6 possible opponents after win over Eddie Hall

Thor Bjornsson could face a number of massive opponents in his next boxing match after defeating Eddie Hall in Dubai.

Both Bjornsson and Hall insisted before the fight that they plan to stick around boxing after their match-up finally took place, and there will surely be a wealth of possible rivals waiting for a shot at the big men after an exciting scrap that saw both men hit the deck on route to a decision.

They both lost a massive amount of weight for the fight, and will likely want to stay in boxing shape as opposed to ballooning back to their strongman weights. Hall has called for a fight with actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, while Bjornsson expressed interest in facing Tyson Fury or Mike Tyson in a massive exhibition.

Here, we take a look at some of the possible opponents for the former world's strongest man in his next outing...

1. Rematch

The interest in this massive showdown was so significant that we wouldn't be surprised at all if the rivals wanted to run it back in a rematch. Bjornsson had fought three times prior to Hall getting into the ring for the first time, and perhaps given some more time we could see a closer fight between the duo.

It appears that both men have found a new passion for the sport of boxing, so don't be surprised if you hear about a second fight between the former strongmen. After all, look at how much money KSI and Logan Paul made back in 2019 when they decided to do a second bout.

Bjornsson declared that technique had won the night, despite being dropped by Hall's power. The appetite would undoubtedly be there for a rematch.

2. Martyn Ford

The 'World's Scariest Man' is expected to defeat Iranian Hulk Sajad Gharibi when they square off at The O2 arena in London next month, and he was in Dubai this week to watch the two giants go at it. Ford has a background in MMA, and would be a formidable opponent for either man in their next big fight.

However, this all hinges on Ford's showing against Gharibi when he makes his boxing debut on April 30. He is a huge favourite for the fight given his background and being more forthcoming with training footage than his rival. They had a physical altercation in Dubai last month, where it appeared that Ford was easily able to hold off his rival.

3. Mariusz Pudzianowski

Another mountain of a man, Pudzianowski is considerably more experienced in combat than either Hall, Bjornsson, or even Martyn Ford. The massive former strongman is one of the top ranked heavyweights in KSW MMA, where he has fought 23 times, amassing a 16-7 record.

When the original Hall vs Bjornsson fight was called off back in September, the Icelander told Mirror Fighting that he had requested they match him with Pudzianowski. However, the fight couldn't be made and he ended up making light work of Devon Larratt instead.

4. Tom Stoltman

Last year's world's strongest man winner could be brought into the boxing world for a fight with a legend of the strongman game next time out. The British giant is beloved by fans for his attitude and advocacy for autism awareness.

Can he box? We'll have to find out if he chooses to fight his fellow strongman in a big money match-up.

5. The Rock

There's next to no chance of this fight happening, but Eddie Hall has called for a bout with the monstrous movie star and professional wrestler Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. WWE stars have had a mixed bag of results in combat sports, so it remains to be seen if Johnson would be able to box at all.

Johnson isn't used to being towered over, but at 6'2", he could end up being overpowered by the strongman, who is not only taller but heavier than the world's highest paid movie star.

6. Mike Tyson

Thor Bjornsson has called for an exhibition bout with former world heavyweight champion Tyson if he continues to box. The height difference between the pair would be monumental, but Tyson even in his 50s would likely be far too strong of a boxer for the former world's strongest man.

Tyson returned to the ring for an exhibition with Roy Jones Jr back in 2020, and has promised to fight again this year. He was rumoured to face Logan Paul, but that has fizzled, so the fight could be a possibility.
