Thomas Tuchel snubbed but Chelsea win four gongs at London Football Awards

Chelsea have won in four categories at the London Football Awards but the big gongs of Premier League player and manager of the year have gone across town to West Ham United’s Declan Rice and David Moyes.

The West London club had three of the top five players, with Jorginho, Antonio Rudiger and Thiago Silva behind Rice and his West Ham team-mate Jarrod Bowen.

Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, came fourth in the managerial category - behind Matt Gray of Sutton United and Fulham’s Marco Silva.

Emma Hayes, manager of Chelsea women, was given the outstanding contribution award at the Camden Roundhouse.

Edouard Mendy was named goalkeeper of the year while Conor Gallagher, spending the campaign on loan at Crystal Palace, got the young player award and Sam Kerr got the women’s player of the season.

The Chelsea foundation’s ‘No to Hate’ campaign was commended in the community project of the year category.
