Chelsea have parted company with Thomas Tuchel - just 11 days before they take on Liverpool in the Premier League.
The German has left Stamford Bridge just seven matches into the new season, following a 1-0 defeat by Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night. Last night's game was his 100th in charge of the club.
Tuchel admitted after last night’s defeat that 'everything is missing' when it came to his Chelsea side, and expressed his anger at his team’s performance and himself, after his players toiled at the Maksimir Stadium, following an early goal from Mislav Orsic.

Tuchel was appointed by Chelsea in January 2021 and had an immediate impact, winning the Champions League in his first season at the club. Chelsea then reached both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup final as they secured a third place finish in the Premier League last season.
“Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel,” a statement from the club read.
“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.
“Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.
“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.
“There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.”
Chelsea take on Fulham this weekend before making the trip to Anfield to face Liverpool next Sunday. In between both of those games, FC Red Bull Salzburg visit Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.
It is being widely reported that former Everton youth team player Anthony Barry will be placed in temporary charge of all first-team affairs at Stamford Bridge until Tuchel’s successor is found.
Barry, who left the Blues Academy in 2004, was appointed as part of Frank Lampard's backroom staff at Stamford Bridge. Barry was then kept on when Lampard was replaced by Tuchel and has earned rave reviews from the German coach.
