Thomas Tuchel's 'tired' Chelsea receives Antonio Conte warning in light of recent form

Lately, Chelsea have had issues keeping the opposition ball out of the net. From having a clean defensive record to conceding 13 goals since December.

The majority of these goals have come in the second half and come after Chelsea had scored the first goal. It's manic to see how the defence has wholly deteriorated in such a short space of time.

Before December, Chelsea had only conceded six goals in the league.

The Blues face a confident Antonio Conte squad, and they must avoid sharing the same fate as they have in recent matches. Spurs' last game was a victory away at Leicester. Not only was it a game that they dominated, but they also stole the three points with two goals in 2 minutes.

This could mean trouble for the Blues.

I just knew Antonio Conte would come back to haunt us someday. Whilst many fans have ridiculed his move to Tottenham Hotspur, I was not too fond of the idea of playing against our north London rivals, spearheaded by Chelsea's arch enemy.

My worries may be a little hyperbolic. Thomas Tuchel nullified Spurs across two legs in the Carabao Cup semi-final JUST one week ago. However, Tottenham has become a different kettle of fish in the Premier League. Spurs have gone unbeaten since the arrival of their Italian boss, and they will look to extend that run at Stamford Bridge.

Nothing tastes better than sweet revenge against your fierce rivals. I expect Harry Kane and those who understand the magnitude of this derby to try and hit Chelsea where it hurts. Watching Steven Bergwijn score two goals in two minutes midweek will hamper anyone's confidence to go against the Lilywhites - especially considering Chelsea's recent form.

Chelsea struggled against Brighton. They struggled to score, they struggled to create, and they struggled to keep control. Conceding in the second half once again, it was inevitable that the Blues would only come away with a point. Since November, Chelsea has struggled to make that discerning difference in the second half of matches, and it is now a concern.

It is no longer a question about whether Chelsea will concede after scoring the first goal; it is becoming a feeling of certainty. I do not blame anyone in our defence. I do not blame Thomas Tuchel either. The players are running on empty fuel. It's no wonder they have been conceding like maniacs!

Mason Mount, Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and even N'Golo Kante look extremely run down through no fault of their own. Tuchel had openly let the media know that the players were "tired" after their draw with Brighton.

I can only hope that Chelsea has rested ahead of an all-important derby with two days off. Conte's men have four games in hand over Chelsea. If they win every one, they will go ahead of us in the Premier League.

Scary hours.

Anyways, who are we kidding? It is Spurs, after all. Banking on them to drop points at some point, hopefully against Chelsea over the weekend. Let's wait and see.
