Thomas Tuchel's dream Chelsea starting lineup if Aubameyang and Wesley Fofana complete transfers

Chelsea have until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday to conclude their transfer business with the Blues heavily linked with a number of mouth watering prospects that could form a frightening squad for Thomas Tuchel to tinker with.

The west London outfit have already spent well over £100million this summer with deals secured for Marc Cucurella, Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Gabriel Slonina, but could see their total spend near, or even surpass, the £300million mark.

The likes of Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana and Everton winger Anthony Gordon have all been linked with a move to West London. It certainly appears as though Todd Boehly is happy to keep the chequebook out over the final days of the window.

Fofana is understood to be the Blues' main target with Chelsea securing a deal for the 21-year-old centre-back, despite having had three bids rejected previously.

football.london understands Fofana asked to leave the King Power Stadium after agreeing personal terms with Tuchel's side at the beginning of August. The French defender was left out of Brendan Rodgers' matchday squad against Southampton last weekend and is out of the trip to Stamford Bridge.

The former St. Etienne player has been training with Leicester's Development Squad having missed a first-team session last week as he looked to push through a move to SW6.

The predicament for Leicester will be all-too familiar to the saga that saw former defender Harry Maguire leave for Manchester United in 2019. Ironically, the Frenchman could be lining up alongside their former centre-back in the blue of Chelsea by September.

Chelsea are said to have made a shock enquiry over the Manchester United captain's availability, who was on the bench for the Red Devils' impressive 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Monday night. Tuchel wants to add at least one more centre-back to his squad before the end of the window, having missed out on deals for Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde whilst signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

As for Aubameyang, football.london understands that Chelsea are very confident of securing a deal for the striker's services, having made a £22m offer for the Barcelona forward.

Tuchel is looking to reunite with his former Borussia Dortmund player and add a wealth of Premier League experience to his squad with the 33-year-old previously spending four years in London with Arsenal.

The Gabon international netted 92 goals in 163 appearances for the Gunners and only left for Barcelona in January, where he has scored a respectable 13 times in 24 games. However, the Catalan club's well documented financial issues mean that they may have no option but to part ways with the striker after just seven months.

Although an immediate regular starting place seems unlikely, Chelsea clearly think very highly of Everton winger Anthony Gordon, having been prepared to make a £60million offer for the 21-year-old with, as football.london understands, talks continuing between the two clubs.

The Blues have already added a winger to their ranks this summer in Raheem Sterling, however the young Englishman would no doubt add quality to Tuchel's squad having impressed under Chelsea legend and Toffees manager Frank Lampard since making his breakthrough.

There is no doubt that Chelsea have the potential to end the transfer window with a mouth-watering squad and an extremely competitive first choice starting XI. Here is how the Blues could line up should these deals be finalised.

Tuchel's ideal Chelsea XI: Mendy; Fofana, Silva, Koulibaly; James, Kante, Jorginho, Cucurella; Mount, Sterling, Aubameyang.
