Thomas Tuchel has been fined £20,000 by The FA and warned about his future conduct following his comments about referee Anthony Taylor following Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues head coach was hugely frustrated with three key decisions going against his side in the clash earlier this month. The first was why offside wasn't called when Richarlison blocked Edouard Mendy's view for Spurs' first goal and the second was the clear hair pull on Marc Cucurella by Cristian Romero prior to Tottenham grabbing a late equaliser.
After the full-time whistle was blown, Tuchel then got into an altercation with Antonio Conte. Both were shown a red card by Taylor for which Tuchel was both fined and forced to serve a one-game touchline ban, which he did against Leicester at the weekend.

But the Chelsea head coach hasn't escaped punishment for his comments about Taylor after the heated draw. Tuchel said: “I don’t think just some of the fans think [that Taylor makes poor decisions against Chelsea]. I can assure you the whole dressing room of us, every single person, thinks that.
"I can’t understand how the first goal is not offside and I can’t understand when a player is pulled by their hair, the other player stays on the pitch. Pull someone else’s hair, stay on the pitch and attack the last corner. This is for me without any explanation and I don’t want to accept it. Both goals should not stand and it’s a fair result because we were brilliant, deserved to win. This is my point of view.”
Tuchel added: “Maybe it would be better [if Taylor didn't referee Chelsea games again]. Maybe it would be better. But honestly, we also have VAR to help make the right decision. Since when can players be pulled by hair? Since when is that [not a foul]?
"If he does not see it, I do not blame him. I didn’t see it. But we have people at VAR who check this. Then you see it and how can this not be a free-kick and a red card? This doesn’t even have to do with the referee in this case. If he does not see something, that’s why we have people to check if there is a decisive error going on.”
It was inevitable that Tuchel would be punished for the comments and The FA have today confirmed the Chelsea head coach will be fined once more.
A statement read: "An independent Regulatory Commission has ordered Chelsea FC's Thomas Tuchel to be fined £20,000 and warned about his future conduct for breaching FA Rule E3.1 during a post-match press conference on Sunday 14 August 2022.
"The manager admitted that his comments after their Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur FC constitute improper conduct as they imply bias, question the integrity of the match referee, and bring the game into disrepute. The independent Regulatory Commission's written reasons for this fine and warning will be published in due course."
