Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has already highlighted how Ousmane Dembele can improve the team and take his game - and the team's - to a new level.
The Blues have been linked with a deadline-day move for Dembele, who is in the final six months of his contract and could be on his way out of the Nou Camp.
Barcelona are eager to cut down the wage bill, and Dembele has underwhelmed since his big-money move to succeed Neymar, struggling with a raft of injuries.
Nevertheless, the talent still remains, and clubs have been offered the chance to tap into his potential and rediscover his best form.
Among the many managers that would surely love a crack at figuring out Dembele is Tuchel, who worked with the 24-year-old at Borussia Dortmund and has spoken positively about since.
Two years ago, while Tuchel was manager at Paris Saint-German, the German reflected on Dembele's aims, skill and ability to reach whatever level he wants.
"If he's focused enough, he can reach any level," said Tuchel per Bleacher Report. "When I talked to him for the very first time, he told me that he wanted to play for Barcelona. That's where he is now.
"It means he can reach any level, but he needs to remain focused and improve each day."
Tuchel added: "Ousmane is an incredible player, he's really talented. I could watch his amazing skills in every training session.
"He's also a great human being. He's a little crazy. He's a really nice boy but a little crazy. He loves to laugh but can also have very serious conversations. It's never boring with him."
It is not the only time Tuchel has praised Dembele's qualities. Back in 2016, when the pair were both at Dortmund, he said via Goal: "Of course we love his dribbling, we love his bravery, we love his pace, his control on the ball. We know a lot of the facets of his game from the training.
"Ousmane is a player who brilliantly combines dribbling passing and making space to a very high level. That's extraordinary.
"It's a great pleasure to work with him and it's a big challenge for him to face everything he has and still be the level he is.
"We hope that we can provide him the environment he needs to develop in the way he wants and that he is a great assistance for us also."
Whether Chelsea complete the Dembele signing before the deadline or return in the summer remains to be seen, but Tuchel's previous comments show he believes the Frenchman could take his team to a new level.
