Thomas Tuchel has already hinted at Chelsea transfer decision amid shock Liverpool message

Thomas Tuchel has already outlined his plans for Conor Gallagher as the Chelsea loanee continues to impress during his spell away from the club. The 22-year-old midfielder is due to return to the Blues in the summer, but has recently been told that he would be the perfect fit for Liverpool.

Former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino recently claimed that Gallagher, who is currently on international duty with England, would be the ideal player for Liverpool to sign in the summer transfer window. He said to talkSPORT: "Conor Gallagher is an outstanding attacking midfielder who always looks like he is going to get a goal or make an assist.

"I like him because I do not think there are too many of his type around. Liverpool, for me, if they had a player like that as well adding behind their front three, with his ability to get goals.

"Chelsea would never sell him to Liverpool, but they’d do really well with him. Conor Gallagher will get goals. Whether or not he will get his chance at Chelsea, I don’t know. No one at Chelsea can do what he does, but it depends if Thomas Tuchel wants to play that kind of player in his system. I hope he does give him a chance."

As Cascarino mentioned, it would be highly unlikely that Chelsea would sanction Gallagher moving to a direct rival like Liverpool. As well as this, football.london reported in December of last year that Gallagher is fully prepared to return to Stamford Bridge once the season concludes and fight for a first-team spot under Tuchel next term.

Tuchel, when speaking earlier in the season, confirmed that the club will make a decision over the midfielder's future when his loan spell at Crystal Palace ends. The Chelsea boss said: "It is too early to talk about that in public before we talk with Conor himself and what his goals are. This will happen in the summer as we all agreed to the decision that we wanted to send him to Palace.

"He saw a possibility for him. I am not surprised the national coach loves him because I loved him from day one. Humble, nice, smile on his face and all the time ready to give everything, wants to learn and improve. As a team-mate, I would have loved to play with him. It is a pleasure to know him; I am super happy that it has worked out so well. He needs to keep his feet on the ground."
