Thomas Tuchel has admitted he is "super happy" with the current state of Chelsea's transfer business ahead of Everton in Premier League amid ongoing talks with both Wesley Fofana and Frenkie de Jong.
Ahead of the Premier League opener at Goodison Park on the Saturday Night Football, the Blues have so far made five first-team recruits with Marc Cucurella the latest to join in a £63million deal on Friday. With three more transfer deals eyed up, this could potentially take the transfer spend under Todd Boehly in the first summer transfer window up to the £300m mark.
Seemingly, the Blues' second £70million bid for Leicester star Fofana has been turned down due to the fact as Brendan Rodgers claimed, no offers have met the 'valuation' yet. The Guardian's Jacob Steinberg has reported though that the club are willing to make the 21-year-old the most expensive defender in the world as £85million is the maximum they will go to this summer which would eclipse the Harry Maguire fee Man United paid.

At the same time as these negotiations for the Foxes star, Boehly is also deep in discussions with Barcelona to try and complete the transfer 'hijack' of the Red Devils' deal for De Jong.
According to CBS Sports' Ben Jacobs: "Frenkie de Jong also progressing. Further clarity expected next week. Barca say they want to keep him but that will change when they make a Bernardo Silva offer. De Jong, as previously reported, prefers Chelsea to Manchester United if he’s to be forced out.
"Talking to Barca sources in New York, there feeling remains (even with new lever income) that De Jong has to come off the wage bill and the transfer fee will help, too. Barca telling De Jong directly they want him out will be key to speeding up his exit."
These two additions plus a potential new attacker amid Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rumours would excite not only the Chelsea fanbase but manager Thomas Tuchel, who has admitted he's "super happy" with the new recruits that are already through the door.
"No, I'm not happy, I'm super happy," he told Soccer AM ahead of Everton. "These two guys [Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly] are fantastic guys and fantastic football players and are exactly what we need.
"So, this is brilliant to have Kalidou here in the defence and Raheem in the offence is top top signings."
