The potential signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona is one of the strongest indicators of the influence Thomas Tuchel has over Chelsea's transfer business this summer.
The potential reunion with the 33-year-old would be another statement addition by Todd Boehly that does not come without its risks, but hopefully offers Tuchel a player capable of producing consistent goals in his system.
Along with the technical qualities the former Arsenal striker could bring to Stamford Bridge, Tuchel equally offered an explanation over why he desires more attacking options be bought in before the end of the transfer window.

"We are still active in the market and know what can be possible." Tuchel told reporters when pressed over potential new signings in Friday's press conference at Cobham. "We are looking for high quality and personality that suits our group and squad."
Along with talks for Aubameyang, the pursuit of another defender in Leicester's Wesley Fofana continues to heat up after two bids were rejected.
"I believe we can compete with this group, but it's one thing to compete once a week and it's another to compete 60 times a year and three times a week," Tuchel added.
That last point by the German is one that can be easily forgotten in the early weeks of the campaign when players look fresh and top clubs are only having to deal with one game a week.
But that is soon to change with the introduction of the Champions League group stage beginning in early September, and due to the World Cup in November, games will have to be completed in a condensed period along with Premier League commitments, likely straining squads and forcing rotation.
It was an issue Tuchel struggled to resolve last season when suffering key injuries to both of his first-choice wingbacks Reece James and Ben Chilwell, along with losing senior midfielders N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic for periods too.
Friday's injury update by Tuchel only strengthened the case for Aubameyang as he confirmed that Armando Broja is out of Sunday's trip to Leeds, meaning that Kai Havertz will likely start.
There are a lot of games ahead, ones where Tuchel will need flexibility and different profiles. Not only could Aubameyang bring a much needed precision to a profligate forward line, he could soothe injury concerns of the past.
