Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was far from impressed with his side's display during their 4-0 loss to London rivals Arsenal this morning.
The Gunners scored two goals either side of half-time, with Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Albert Sambi Lokonga all finding the back of the net in what was an extremely one-sided match in Orlando. After the full-time whistle, Blues head coach Tuchel claimed that Mikel Arteta's men currently are 'far ahead' of his side when it comes to preparations for the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
"Given our last two weeks, our game today, we should not mention the two teams in front of us", the German said when asked about looking at closing the gap between Liverpool and Manchester City. "We got absolutely beaten by a team that does not play Champions League football next season and finished behind us."

"But at the moment, they seem far ahead of us." The former Paris Saint-Germain boss also heaped praise on Arsenal's commitment, admitting that several Chelsea players that featured are keen to leave before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1.
"I can not guarantee", he added when quizzed on whether or not the west Londoners will be ready for their Premier League opener against Everton in less than two weeks time. "I saw today a team in Arsenal who are mentally committed to an idea of playing, a level of exhaustion, a level of physical commitment that we could not match.
"Also, a level of mental commitment that we lacked because we have a lot of players who are thinking about leaving and looking at their options. We have players that have left and I think at the moment that's obvious."
