Thomas Partey has been granted to return home early from international duty the Ghanaian federation has confirmed.
Ghana have confirmed that the midfielder will no longer take part in Ghana’s final international break fixture against Nicaragua on Tuesday. It is due to this that both Arsenal and Ghana decided that it would be the best decision to send him back to London.
Partey had missed his nation’s match against Brazil on Friday evening after picking up a knock to his knee. He was initially in the starting line-up for the game, but pulled out shortly before kick-off.

The Gunners have been left sweating over the fear that Partey is the next player to suffer an injury after the Ghana international had already picked up a knock earlier this month and was left out of the Black Stars' latest fixture. The Gunners have tough October scheduled, with nine games to be played, which included matches against the likes of Spurs and Liverpool, with Partey likely to play a pivotal part in both of these games, given that he is available.
Fears that the 29-year-old could miss the north London derby were eased after a member of the Black Stars' medical team issued a positive update on the Arsenal midfielder's fitness. Journalist George Addo Junior posted on Twitter that he had received an update from a member of the Ghana medical team stating that 29-year-old was left out of the Black Stars' game against Brazil as a 'precaution'.
The tweet read: "A member of the Black Stars medical team has confirmed to me Partey's exclusion was only precautionary. Partey felt uncomfortable around his knee and was advised to pull out. He should be ready for Tuesday's game."
But, confirmation that Partey is now returning to London gives Arsenal the chance to wrap the midfielder in cotton wool to ensure he is fit for the upcoming fixtures. This is a welcome boost for the Gunners who will be hoping their players return fully fit ahead of a run of nine fixtures in October as they fight to stay top of the Premier League.
