Thomas Cashman will appear in Liverpool Crown Court today ahead of standing trial accused of shooting Olivia Pratt-Korbel dead.
The 34-year-old, of Grenadier Drive in West Derby, is at a pre-trial review after he pleaded not guilty to murdering nine-year-old back in December. As well as entering a not guilty plea to the schoolgirl's murder, Cashman denied attempting to murder Joseph Nee and wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm Olivia's mum, Cheryl Korbel.
He similarly pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, namely a 9mm calibre self-loading pistol and a 0.3 calibre revolver. A trial date is set for March 9 this year.

It is expected that the trial will last around four weeks. The schoolgirl Olivia was shot in the chest in her own home on Kingsheath Avenue, Dovecot, on Monday, August 22.
The gunman is said to have been chasing after 35-year-old Nee, who was believed to be the intended target of the shooting. A number of shots were fired during the attack, with Nee being injured alongside Olivia's mum 46-year-old Cheryl.
