Teams have continually poached assistant coaches from the Los Angeles Rams since Sean McVay arrived and this offseason doesn’t appear to be any different. This week alone, Rams’ tight ends coach/assistant head coach, Thomas Brown, will be interviewing with the Washington Commanders and the Los Angeles Chargers for their vacant offensive coordinator jobs.

Both teams want to improve their run games, and Brown knows Sean McVay's system inside and out.

Brown joined McVay’s coaching staff in 2020 as the team’s running backs coach. Since becoming part of the staff, McVay has raved about Brown and he was instantly promoted to assistant head coach in 2021.
Besides coaching the running backs again at the end of the season in 2022 due to Ra’Shaad Samples moving on, Brown added tight ends coach to his resume this season. And besides interviewing for offensive coordinator positions, Brown interviewed for the open head coaching gig for the Houston Texans recently.
The Rams are looking for a new offensive coordinator themselves, but McVay hasn’t typically hired from within at that spot. So if the Rams want to retain Brown for next season, there’s a chance they’ll need to offer him a promotion to keep him on McVay’s staff.
