We love a new TikTok trend, especially one that makes us feel happier and healthier. And there's a new one sweeping the world that involves simply lying down. What could be better?
But is this new lying-down trend too good to be true? Apparently there's more good news as TV Doctor Amir Khan appeared on Lorraine this morning (April 14) to discuss the new health trend sweeping social media platform, TikTok. He said: "Normally I poo-poo these trends but actually there is some truth to this one."
Dr Amir explained the trend: "It's people lying down and lifting their legs up above their heart. Now Tik Tok says it cures all sorts of things but the truth is, if you've got things like swollen legs, and you've ruled out any serious things through your doctor, this could help relieve some swelling in your legs as gravity will pull that swelling down."

And that's not all. Doctor Khan says lying with your legs in the air can: "Improve the pressure on your veins, and reduce the risk of things like varcose veins plus it can improve muscle soreness."
The TV doctor is always up for giving things a try and didn't hesitate to seize the opportunity for a lie down on the show saying: "I tried it this morning as you can see. And I'll be honest with you, it's not an easy position to get into, it took me a while."
