This weekend’s Ulster Club Championship fixtures as Slaughtneil Camogs bid to continue dominance

This weekend’s fixture list in Ulster is scaled back from previous weeks, but that just means things are reaching the business end of the provincial series.

Five semi-finals take place over Saturday and Sunday with the Ulster Camogie decider taking centre stage on Saturday.

Slaughtneil are bidding for a remarkable seventh successive Ulster title at the expense of Loughgiel, who are vying for their first title since 2015.

The Derry side won the delayed 2020 final between the sides last December after a replay and backed it up with a win in the 2021 decider last January.

They lost out to Sarsfield's in horrible conditions in Gorey, Co Wexford in February's All-Ireland semi-final and the influential Shannon Graham is no longer part of the panel.

It promises to be a busy weekend for Slaughtneil supporters as their senior hurlers begin the defence of their Ulster title when they take on Down champions Portaferry in Corrigan Park on Sunday.

The winners are set to take on Antrim champions Dunloy in the provincial final next month with Slaughtneil hoping to win a third successive Ulster title.

The semi-finals of the Intermediate hurling also take place on Saturday with Middletown and Carrickmore facing each other at the Athletic Grounds while Liatroim and Clooney Gaels clash at Dungannon.

The two Ulster Junior football semi-final are scheduled for Sunday with the Intermediate and Senior semi-finals set to take place next weekend.
