This Venus Williams-approved green shade is the only entryway color you need to know for 2025 – it's designed to evoke tranquility and restfulness

Venus Williams.

If you cast your mind back to late summer and early fall of 2024, you will remember the influx of Color of the Year announcements – among them, Sherwin-Williams's Quietude.

HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams announced this soft sage green (with a whisper of blue) as its most significant hue for 2025, and since then, designers have experimented with this shade in their projects and homes. Among them, a friend of Venus Williams, who introduced Quietude to her entryway. The result was so beautiful, Venus herself took to Instagram to share it with the world.

'How do you transform this – to this? With a little paint and inspiration from Palazzo and HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, Venus says alongside before-and-after photographs of the entryway transformation.

'With the help of Palazzo, our talented friend Marianne Verrilli used the Color of the Year Quietude [available at Lowe's] for the walls, and complementary color Rocky River [also available at Lowe's] over the trim and doors.'

Quietude, the primary entryway color, comes from Sherwin-Williams's Naturally Refined 2025 Color Collection of the Year, and there's a reason it's a stand-out shade.

An in-between hue, Quietude is an incredibly restful color that acts as an elevated take on typical neutrals. It's neither too blue nor too green, meaning your space won't ever feel too overwhelmed. As Venus reminds us, it's a beautiful way to upgrade your entryway, but its tranquil qualities make it a safe bedroom color.

'Within the collection, the softened sage green Quietude stands out as the 2025 Color of the Year and sets the stage for a quiet space to promote relaxation,' says Ashley Banbury, the color marketing manager at HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams.

Venus also expands on how Marianne curated her entryway with Palazzo, a design and technology company that assists homeowners in visualizing current color trends in their homes, making the color selection process more personalized.

'Palazzo is all about making design fun and easy, giving you the power to use trend-forward paint colors in your home,' Venus says. 'You, too, could end up with just the inspiration you need to reimagine your space in 2025.'
