This trip away could save our season: David Klemmer

It's been a very tough period these past few weeks and I think getting away for a week in Queensland could be just what we need.

It's come at a good time.

Obviously going through this week is going to be tough, but I reckon it will benefit not just the players but the coaches as well.

We're going to be living out of each other's pockets for almost two weeks.

We can get away from footy together and we're going to be there for each other.

We can get away and get some work done.

It's obviously hard leaving the family and the kids - I've got four of them, but at the end of the day this is what pays the bills and we've got a job to do. We've got to respond sooner or later.

It's getting a bit too late now if we want to be playing finals footy at all.

We strung a few wins together last year after we were forced to relocate to Queensland and I think it could help us again. We lived together for three or four months up at the Sunshine Coast. That was a hell of an experience and we enjoyed it.

The last couple of weeks we've had, I reckon it will bring us in even tighter.

Obviously we go home to our families when we are here, but we go home to each other when we are away.

I think everyone will have that mentality.

We know how serious the situation is at the moment that we're in. It should feel like a big two-week camp.

It was pretty intense doing the review of our loss to the Storm this week, but I can't fault the coaches - they've been really supportive of us players.

They know we don't go out there to lose 50-2.

There's just a few technical things we've got to fix up and we just need to get some confidence back in the joint.

We've just got to find a nice gritty win and that will go a long way for us to build on.

We get a few back this week, including Lachlan Fitzgibbon.

Fitzy has worked extremely hard after a big surgery and for him to get back after only seven weeks, it's a credit to himself.

He was worked that hard and it's been pretty difficult for him watching it all unfold on the field.

But he is ready to go and I'm happy for him.

Dom Young is back as well, as is Mat Croker.

And big Pasami Saulo, he gets a chance after ploughing away in NSW Cup getting his minutes up.

The Cowboys will be strong. They're led by the big bull Jason Taumalolo. He is going great at the moment, as is Reuben Cotter.

Right across the park, they are all going really well. We've got to go up there and do a job on the whole team.

Our record against the Cowboys isn't too great.

It's generally back and forth, they get us up there and we get them down here.

Hopefully we can break that cycle this weekend.
