This Morning viewers say 'hang on' as they spot 'problem' moments into ITV show

This Morning viewers were confused moments into today's episode as Holly Willoughby did not appear in her usual spot.

The 42-year-old traditionally fronts episodes of ITV's flagship daytime programme from Monday - Thursday. The mum-of-three appeared on Thursday's episode alongside Craig Doyle.

However, viewers following the show on Twitter were surprised when Holly didn't return in her usual spot fronting the programme today. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary instead stepped in to host Monday's episode.

Holly usually enjoys a break over the school summer holidays. The presenter did not announce she was going to step away from hosting duties on Thursday's episode but fans on social media have speculated that she may now be off television until September.

Victoria said: "Hang on where’s Holly I didn’t think the school holidays started yet."

Another user commented: "Where was Holly with her montage of ‘best bits’ from the past year?"

Dario posted: "Monday on #ThisMorning and Holly is away"

Holly was flooded with support over the weekend as she announced her mum-in-law had died. She shared a snap of the two alongside a heartfelt tribute as she said: "Sleep well Sandra… Nonna, Mother, Sister, friend… To know her was to know strength itself…

"Raising four children after losing her husband, she then lost a son and more recently her sister… Thank you for your guidance, advice and bottomless Prosecco. Thank you for raising the incredible man I’m married to… I see your strength everyday in our children… Be at peace…Love you."
