This Morning viewers point out problem with Peter Andre's appearance on show as Dermot O'Leary stunned after wading in on scandal

This Morning viewers wasted no time in pointing out what they found to be a 'problem' with Peter Andre's appearance on the show. The singer-turner-TV star is no stranger to appearing on the ITV daytime programme's famous sofa.

But during his latest stint on This Morning, Peter actually joined Holly Willoughby and Dermot O'Leary in the kitchen. He surprised both the hosts and those tuning into Thursday's show (June 22) when he appeared as one of their latest chefs.

Peter, who first shot to fame in the mid-90s when the original release of his iconic single Mysterious Girl before an appearance on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here, kickstarted his secondary career on the small screen, BIT no-one expected him to show up behind the kitchen counter on This Morning.

He was on hand to prepare his own healthy take on a chicken burger from a popular fast-food chain that he has taken from his new recipe book, #ItsFine., which he has penned with Ben Smith, a nutritional therapist who has worked in the field for over 10 years following his own weight loss journey after initially losing 10 stone in 2012.

As he does in the book, Peter talked about his own struggles with his weight and the fad diets he tried over the years, having piled the pounds on before his wedding to his ex-wife Katie Price, despite being known for his ripped physique from his Mysterious Girl music video.

"We had our meeting yesterday for what we were doing [on the show] today and we were like 'Peter Andre...' and then [we were] like, 'What!? He's cooking? I don't understand," Dermot said as he and Holly joined Peter in the kitchen for the segment and shared their surprise at his new career move.

"Jack of all trades," Peter replied as Dermot admitted: "I don't mind." But the move did surprise viewers. @Rise_and_grind7 tweeted: "Peter Andre a chef? #itvthismorning." @DavidMackayy asked: "Peter Andre doing the cooking segment.. are they struggling to find chefs? #thismorning."

@_paulthomas_ wrote: "It's 2023, Peter Andre is now a chef," before joking: "He just won’t go away will he! #thismorning." @k_heyrab added: "Peter Andre is a chef now mysterious burger #ThisMorning."

But as he got on with his cooking demonstration, Holly had to point out that viewers could get the recipe and method on the This Morning app as they took to Twitter to share the same issue.

It comes after Peter waded into the recent This Morning scandal involving former presenter Phillip Schofield. @mrgrandan said: "And what the hell is the recipe mate? Why doesn’t Dermot let anyone speak #ThisMorning #PeterAndre." @TrevCampbell commented: "#peterandre is cooking on #ThisMorning @thismorning but isn't telling the viewers how to cook his chicken recipe."

@WorfDelm2016 wrote: "I don't even know what he made. #ThisMorning." @johnlennonsboot added: "This recipe is great "a pinch of just me talking about myself" #ThisMorning."

It comes after Peter waded in on the scandal surrounding This Morning and its former presenter Phillip Schofield. The 50-year-old appeared as a host on GB News when he said it was "hard to hear" about the controversy. The staff, the people on the floor, the executives, they’ve always been nice to me, and it’s really hard," he said on GB News.

"It is hard to hear this because you almost don’t want it to be true." He added: "I know that there’s a lot of speculation still and there’s no definite on anything, but it really is a difficult thing to hear when you’ve loved that family for so long and I still love them."
