This Morning viewers in disbelief and say 'since when' as they question 'audacity' during tribute show

This Morning viewers were rushing to respond after they heard a word that they wouldn't usually hear on the morning show. The ITV daytime programme was back on air on Friday (June 23) for the final time this week with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary back at the helm.

And it was a special show as they were paying tribute to the late George Michael ahead of what would have been his 60th birthday this weekend. The hosts opened the show by busting some moves to Wham! classic Club Tropicana before sharing what they had coming up.

One of the segments saw Alison and Dermot joined by Jo Maidment whose 11-year-old daughter Betsey was born thanks to IVF funding from an anonymous donor who watched This Morning and was later revealed to be George Michael.

They also spoke live to Helen DeMacque - also known as Pepsi - who is best known for being a singer/dance with Wham! as part of the Pepsi & Shirlie duo with Shirlie Kemp in the 1980s.

But before they got stuck into their various segments and interviewed their guests, Dermot and Alison were teasing what was to come when they shouted over to the kitchen to chat to Donal Skehan. The Irish chef was on to reveal what he'd be whipping up on the show but was distracted by Dr Scott Millier's moves.

"How can I follow those sexy moves over there," he said before adding: "Look, he's shaking his a**e now for goodness sake," as they camera panned to show vet Scott still wiggling his hips. Donal then got his chance to dance when he revealed his favourite George Micheal song to be be Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

But This Morning viewers were in disbelief that Donal got away with using the other word for bottom live on the programme just after 10am.

@Juani983 laughed: "'He’s shaking his a**e now'. Are they allowed to say arse on morning telly? #ThisMorning." @Gee_McK posted: "Since when did presenters say ars* on live tv #ThisMorning."

Others, meanwhile, were reacting to the change in the show to pay tribute to George. @ScotcherSharon said: "This is going to be a hard watch today i bloody love George Michael #ThisMorning." @Flat__l1ned shared: "@thismorning Another fab lineup and a beautiful tribute for George Michael #ThisMorning."

@SpinToWinPhrase posted: "Absolutely loving the George Michael edition of #ThisMorning today. What a man he was. He could sing anything and do it justice." But @CKurkova wrote: "I've had enough of this cringe already #thismorning."

However, some questioned the show's audacity as they played a classic track a bit too early in the year for some. @kaytweets_x said: "It’s bloody June of all the George Michael songs they play the Christmas song #ThisMorning."

@KTDuk tweeted: "The audacity of #ThisMorning for playing Last Christmas in June, how dare you tease me with my favourite time of year AND favourite Christmas song." @MissLionHeart shared: "Don't play the song six months before... that thing in December! #ThisMorning." @SenorApple2014 added: "Thanks, #ThisMorning! Now I’ve failed Whamageddon - and it’s not even December!
