Liverpool viewers were left disgusted after This Morning announced a new addition to its Spin to Win game.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby returned to the ITV television show after their summer break, bringing back the popular Spin The Wheel segment where viewers are typically in with a chance of winning cash prizes.
As a result of the current rising energy prices, ITV bosses have added a new prize where the show would pay the winning player's energy bills for the next four months.

Introducing the game, Phil said: "This week we’ve got our usual cash prizes, but you could also win some extra cash to pay your energy bills until the end of the year. That’s four months of energy bills taken care of."
Holly added: "Wow, that’s very important right now."
Caller Alex from Enfield, who was pulling up outside his home ready to put This Morning on the television before receiving the call, decided to chance the wheel, which featured £1,000 and £3,000 prizes as well as the chance to have his energy bills paid for the rest of the year.
When asked by the presenters if he was worried about the rising cost of energy, Alex said: "Massively. I’ve got one of these prepayment meters and it’s absolutely murder."
While Alex was delighted after winning the prize, This Morning viewers from Liverpool were not as impressed with the new option and many were left in disgust amid the current cost of living crisis.
One viewer Tweeted: "Disgraceful tory behaviour. Gamifying the public's desperation is downright disgusting."
Another said: "What a sad state of affairs that energy bills are now a competition prize #ThisMorning"
A different user added: "That's when you know our country is truly f****d when winning a prize of your energy bills being paid is actually better than winning money #thismorning"
An additional person said: "Make it a game! Do you get enough to heat your house this winter, spin the wheel and find out!"
Others said: "Seriously @hollywills etc... What next? Water? Oil? Pasta?"
"Grim, horribly grim", another wrote.
