This Morning viewers were left unimpressed by a Christmas segment on the ITV show.
With the festive season creeping closer, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield welcomed beauty expert Sarah Jossel into the studio during Wednesday’s episode to showcase a selection of the “best” advent calendars available this year. However, some thought that the options shown were tone-deaf given the ongoing cost of living crisis, which has left families across the country struggling to make ends meet.
The most expensive calendar shown during the segment was a Jo Loves countdown costing £335, while another pick from Space NK was priced at £215, a Selfridges option was priced at £210, and a Greener Beauty advent would set shoppers back £177.95. Less than half of the calendars featured came in at under £100, The Mirror reports .

Beauty expert Sarah said that the products within some of the pricier advent calendars were altogether worth hundreds more than the actual cost of the calendar itself, and suggested that shoppers could buy the calendars to redistribute their contents as Christmas gifts. But the segment attracted a wave of criticism from viewers at home, who took to social media to share their thoughts.
“This is the segment that every year makes me cringe,” one person said on Twitter. “Especially this year. Kids will be lucky to get a chocolate calendar.
“Adults will be grateful every month they make their mortgage payment,” they added. “£200 advent calendars?! I despair.”
Another fumed: “We’re struggling to survive on a daily basis and c**** are promoting £200+ advent calendars. Massive disconnect in the UK between the rich and poor.”
“Who on earth can afford to spend £200+ on an advent calendar right now?! Is this a joke?” a third unhappy viewer asked.
A fourth said: “Cost of living crisis, here's beauty advent calendars for £100+. I swear #ThisMorning love taking the p***... Read the room ffs.”
