This Morning viewers all say the same thing as Irish host Craig Doyle wraps up stint on show

Irish TV presenter Craig Doyle has won the hearts of ITV viewers during the fortnight he presented This Morning with Holly Willoughby.

The 52-year-old was not on air Friday as Dermot O’ Leary and Alison Hammond returned to present the show.

However, This Morning fans have shared their preference for the Irish star as ITV rotates a string of presenters each show, following Phillip Schofield’s shock exit.

Fans of Craig have taken to social media to beg for the Dubliner to co-host the show full-time alongside Holly.

One wrote online: "Craig Doyle needs to be made a permanent host of this morning. He fits in so well."

Another wrote: "Craig is in one of his naughty moods. Love it. Make him permanent please."

However, it is not known whether Craig would consider relocating to the UK as his family live in Ireland where his kids attend school.

He previously spoke about the challenges of working away from home.

The presenter said: “I used to find being away from home exciting.

“I used to present a travel show - I travelled all around the world extensively.”

He told SPC13 Films on ‘What it’s really like to be in the spotlight’: “Once you’ve children at home and you’re part of this big, family unit - there’s 6 of us - two dogs, two cats…

“And when you’re away from your base, it’s really hard.

“A night or two is ok but actually being away for a long time is hard.”

Craig revealed that he tells people he is missing home and that he gets his family to ring him.

He continued: “You become needy and that’s ok.

“In the past I used to crack on…”

“I’ve had to learn how to deal with that a little bit better.

“During Covid, I didn’t realise how much I relied on other people.

“So I’m an extrovert, and people often use the term as an insult - it just means you get a lot of energy off other people.”
