This Morning star reveals split from husband on Valentine's Day but 'doesn't want a pity party'

A This Morning presenter who announced her split from her husband on Valentine's Day has said she doesn't want a "pity party". Georgina Burnett has separated from her husband Andy Flawn.

Georgina is known as the Home Genie and appears on the ITV morning programme as well as on the BBC as a weather presenter. She shared the split news on Valentine's Day to her followers on social media.

The host said she doesn't want a "pity party" and is now looking forward to a "happier chapter as a fortunate single mum". Georgina is a mother of one and met her now ex-husband at university.

They had been together for more than 20 years. Georgina hasn't said when the pair called time on their relationship but said she has been "dealing with" the breakdown over the past year.

She said: "It's time for me to share some personal news for a change. Something I've been dealing with this past year is my marriage splitting up.

"Never easy for anyone, especially the kids. But don't worry, I'm not alone today and I'm excited about my next happier chapter and making the most of my life as a very fortunate single mum."

Georgina added: "So please no pity party, I'm moving on and just want to talk skirting boards today - which one would you go for? Sending love to anyone who is finding today difficult for any reason and may you find happiness in whatever you do."
