This Morning star reveals hospital dash after 'screaming grinding pain'

This Morning regular Matthew Wright has given a health update after being left with severe pain in his neck while moving house earlier this month.

He went to hospital at the time where he was prescribed medication which said had “definitely improved” his condition, but has since been forced to go back as he is once again in agony.

In a series of tweets shared on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter on Sunday, the 59-year-old presenter began by assuring his followers that he was “doing ok” and that the medication was doing the job, for now, but that more would have to be done.

“Pregabalin is good, pain now just annoying,” he penned. I don’t want to tear my head off any more! Getting an MRI tomorrow and guided steroid injection some time after. Hopefully that’ll do the job. Thanks again for the love never experienced pain like it!”

Within a few hours however, he revealed that he was back in hospital after “the nerve kicked off big time”.

‘Unbelievable. I’m back in hospital after the nerve kicked off big time, screaming grinding pain. Paramedics once again incredible but no resolution on the horizon which is a bit grim frankly x,” he explained.

In a further update, he was full of praise for the medical care he had received, saying he’d had “another excellent NHS experience”.

“More drugs, stronger ones and a hope things might improve in the next couple of weeks. F***ing hope so coz I’ve had enough of this already. Thanks for your good wishes again, he concluded.

His fans were quick to offer their well-wishes to the ailing star.

"I’m so sorry to hear this. Nerve pain is excruciating. I hope some relief can brought asap,” wrote one person.

Another remarked: "Hoping for a speedy recovery."

While a third added: "Sorry to hear this, really hope you are better soon!"
