A This Morning presenter appears to have backtracked after sparking outrage with an “insensitive” April Fool's Day joke on social media.
Georgina Burnett, 46, invoked the wrath of the internet after sharing a fake pregnancy announcement on April 1.
The TV star, who is known for sharing upcycling and home improvement tips on the ITV daytime show, posted a black and white photo of herself online with a “baby bump” alongside the caption “News!”
Many of her followers were to question if it was real given the date, and Burnett then began replying to comments with a winking face emoji, leading many to believe the announcement was false.

After that, many were quick to voice their disapproval over the joke.
"As a grown adult you actually think this is funny? […] I’m sure you’ve meant no offence but this is in incredibly poor taste. This is deeply hurtful to the huge number of women suffering with infertility," chided one person.
"‘This is deeply hurtful to the huge number of women suffering with infertility. Did you know 1/4 of pregnancies end in miscarriage and 1/6 of couples have trouble falling pregnant? You would do well to consider this before making “jokes” about such sensitive topics in the future," penned another.
While a third declared: "Not funny if this is an April Fool's joke."
Burnett did not address the controversy around the post, but did delete it.
She then later that day shared a video montage to Instagram of her cat.
In the accompanying caption she wrote: "News... my first bundle of joy became a teenager today! Happy birthday Dexter - dreamies for tea! X"
While many wished her pet a happy birthday, not all was forgotten, with one responding: "Really insensitive to post fake pregnancy announcements".
Meanwhile, Lorraine Kelly also came underfire on Tuesday for her attempts to pull the wool over the eyes of fans tuning into her ITV show.

At the end of the programme, the Scottish broadcaster proudly showed off her “first tattoo”, which was a tribute to her granddaughter Billie.
Disaster struck however when it was revealed that the tattoo artist had spelt the name wrong, instead writing “Billy”.
After Kelly stormed off the set in a huff, many took to X to virtually roll their eyes at the set up.
“Stupid April fool today as well with Lorraine's tattoo, how stupid do they think we are?” fumed one person.
“Lorraine's dragged out attempt at an April Fools, the most cringeworthy woman in history,” agreed another.
