This Morning Shaken Up as Martin Lewis Drops Bombshell Announcement Live on Air

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, Martin Lewis made an unexpected announcement during his appearance on This Morning. The financial expert, known for his insightful money-saving advice, took a break from his usual segment to share exciting news about his own ITV show, The Martin Lewis Money Show.

As hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard introduced him for his regular financial tips, Martin revealed that he would be filming a special episode of his show in honor of Valentine’s Day. “It’s actually a very important show. I’m going to be going through the nine benefits of marriage,” Martin explained, adding a lighthearted remark, “Valentine’s is a wonderful celebration for card shops and chocolate sellers. It’s not that romantic, most people would rather get rid of it when I do polling on it”, according to Wales Online.

The announcement was a surprising twist to his usual advice-focused segments. Martin continued to share his expert advice on practical ways for people to save money, focusing particularly on helping low-income households with their water bills.

During his BBC podcast, Martin had earlier warned that up to two million households on low incomes or receiving Universal Credit could be missing out on significant savings. “Are you one of up to two million homes on low incomes or Universal Credit missing out on saving hundreds of pounds with a social tariff?” he asked his listeners. Martin emphasized that these social tariffs, offered by all water companies, could reduce bills by up to 90%, offering crucial relief for struggling families.

He urged anyone earning under £23,000, or on Universal Credit, to check with their water provider to see if they are eligible for these discounts. “It’s incredibly important if you are on a low income,” he stressed, explaining that these tariffs could provide significant savings for many families.

In addition, Martin introduced another valuable money-saving scheme called “Watersure,” which provides an annual saving of around £160 for eligible households. To qualify for Watersure, families need to have a water meter, be in receipt of benefits, and either have three or more children or a medical condition like Crohn’s or eczema that requires more water usage.

By sharing these practical tips, Martin continues to empower viewers and listeners, helping them make informed decisions and save money where possible. His announcement on This Morning only reinforced his commitment to providing valuable financial advice to a broad audience.
