This Morning's Vanessa Feltz slammed for Mick Lynch 'dig'

This Morning guest Vanessa Feltz came under fire from some viewers on Wednesday after she made a "dig" at RMT union boss Mick Lynch.

The daytime programme returned for the third instalment of the week, hosted by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary. As ever, they discussed topical items and they were joined by regular guests Vanessa Feltz and Matthew Wright.

Ahead of industrial action later this month, the presenters and their guests discussed the upcoming nurse strike.

Staff including nurses, health care assistants, support staff, cleaners and admin staff will walk out for 24 hours from 00:01 on December 28 2022. They will join more than 10,000 GMB ambulance workers who will strike on the same day across England and Wales.

The walkout follows that of rail workers, who have been embroiled in a bitter row over pay and working conditions for months. RMT union boss Mick Lynch has appeared on many TV shows throughout, championing their cause.

But Vanessa said the nurses' "negotiators are the opposite of Mick Lynch". She said: "This is the most terrible situation, and I think it's most terrible for the nurses. They don't want to strike.

"Their negotiators are the opposite of Mick Lynch. They're not intransigent, determined and stubborn, they want to reach some kind of compromise".

Some viewers at home clearly picked up on her comments. Taking to Twitter, Lynz said: "Vanessa getting a dig in at Mick Lynch. She has no idea what the common worker goes through".

Liz said: "Vanessa Feltz *the millionaire* taking aim at Mick Lynch", while Marian said: "I'm sick of these programmes talking about hardship like it's all normal now. It should never have come to this, the only person I see fighting for all is Mick Lynch".

ITV has been approached for comment.
