Former This Morning star Vanessa Feltz was forced to discuss Phillip Schofield's announcement when the news broke during her live TV show.
On Friday evening, Vanessa's colleague Phillip, 61, admitted to having an affair with a "younger" ITV employee when he was still married to wife Stephanie Lowe.
The presenter - who stepped down from This Morning over the weekend - said he lied to her, his agent and viewers about it in a bombshell statement.
Phillip refused to name his former colleague and apologised for his actions which he said were 'unwise but not illegal'.
The Mirror also confirmed that his former talent agency YMU parted ways with the presenter on Thursday.
As the news emerged, Vanessa, 61, was presenting on her show on TalkTV while chatting with guest Nigel Pauley.
Nigel said the statement meant that there could be more "revelations and some more negativity coming out.
“If an agent drops someone and uses the words honesty and integrity, that’s not good," he said.
Vanessa kept composed throughout the chat and nodded her head as her guest discussed the contents of the statement.
Phillip has since been dropped by his talent agency YMU after the affair, which was not illegal, and has also stepped down from ITV – meaning he will no longer host the British Soap Awards next week.
YMU Entertainment and Phillip released have released separate statements about 'parting company' with 'immediate effect'.
"Honesty and integrity are core values for YMU’s whole business, defining everything we do. Talent management is a relationship based entirely on trust," YMU stated.
"This week, we have learned important new information about our client Phillip Schofield. These facts contradicted what Phillip had previously told YMU, as well as the external advisors we had brought in to support him.
"As a result, on Thursday we agreed to part company with Phillip, with immediate effect."
Meanwhile, Phil stated that the affair was consensual and legal and went on to apologise to Stephanie for being unfaithful.
"I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning," he said.
Later in the statement, he admitted: "I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife."
