TV travel expert Simon Calder issued a "brutal" warning to holidaymakers during Friday's instalment of This Morning.
Simon, a regular guest on the show, chatted to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about "travel chaos" on the popular morning programme. The segment saw him answer callers' queries ahead of what is set to be the busiest summer for travel in years.
It comes after people have complained of huge airport queues, lost and delayed baggage, as well as late-running flights and even cancellations. Travel bosses have said the problems have been caused as an after-effect of the pandemic.

One caller, Rosemin, asked Simon how she could retrieve her lost luggage. Simon said he was "so, so sorry" and said "it probably will turn up", before issuing a stark warning to viewers.
Facing the camera, he said: "Anybody checking anything in, when that bag gets tagged... when you see it disappear, you have to assume you will never, ever see it again." As Alison and Dermot put their heads in their hands, he added: "I'm sorry.
"That's because things do go missing, unfortunately permanently. It's very rare but please don't put anything absolutely essential in there". Dermot said: "Why would you say that? I'm never gonna sleep again the night before a flight now".
Viewers at home were equally taken aback. Taking to Twitter, Caitlin Ormond said: "Thanks Simon, just what I wanted to hear the day before I go on holiday".
Lisa said: "Always panic when I check bags in. Seeing it disappear on the conveyor belt gives me extreme anxiety wondering if I'll ever see my bags again." Jessica said: "Simon is brutal today".
