Ruth Langford found herself at the centre of urgent calls for a This Morning shake-up, within moments of her returning to host the show on Monday.
Ruth has been hosting the award-winning ITV daytime programme on and off for over 20 years now, most recently alongside husband Eamonn Holmes, until last year when he quit the channel to take a job on GB News, months after the couple lost their Friday hosting gig to Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.
Unlike Eammon, Ruth has stayed on ITV, being a regular presenter on Loose Women as many fans willed her to be given another shot on This Morning. Well, after a summer that has seen Alison and Dermot, Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rochelle Humes and Andi Peters all host, Ruth is back in the fold, along with her 'TV son' Rylan Clark.

Their return to This Morning was confirmed by Rochelle and Andi as they rounded off their stint in charge last week and, after being excited to see Ruth back in action, it just just minutes of camera rolling for many viewers to demand that she is reinstated as a full time presenter.
Rushing to Twitter in the opening minutes of the show, one fan tweeted: "Really good to see Ruth back on This Morning and that the ‘powers that be’ have seen sense! Not sure why she was removed but I think we all know why!!," with another posting: "Now this is a team, we have needed for a long time, Great to see Ruth back. she was missing for way to long and Rylan is a funny dude."
A third tweeted: " @thismorning am loving Ruth and Rylan! Please have them more often, either full time or on Fridays at least!"
The reason for all the different guest hosts on This Morning over the last month or so is that Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have taken an extended break for summer. However, clearly not in any hurry to have them back, another Ruth and Rylan fan commented: "Controversial opinion here im sure but… Phil and Holly have had their day, Ruth and Rylan should host full time, I said what I said."
