This Morning's Phillip Schofield won't return for Monday's show

Phillip Schofield has confirmed he will miss This Morning on Monday after receiving another positive lateral flow test result.

The 59-year-old has been missing from live shows while he self-isolates after testing positive for covid last Monday.

Vernon Kay and Alison Hammond have been filling in for him on the morning programme, while Stephen Mulhern took his place for Sunday's Dancing On Ice.

Sharing a photo of another positive test on his Instagram story, Phillip said: "This really is the day that keeps on giving.

"Sorry @this morning @hollywilloughby."

The TV star had previously told fans he had discovered a leak coming through a lighting fixture in his house - and that if he had been out filming the show, he his house would be flooded.

Another benefit he found to isolation was that he got to watch Dancing On Ice from home.

He wrote: "Well this is an experience I never expected!!

"I'm loving watching with a G&T."

Fans of the show admitted they missed Phillip, but were also pleasantly surprised by Stephen's efforts.

After Stephen said how much he was fun he was having on the show, Phillip shared another post, which said: "Not too much fun Mulhern... I know where you live."

It is not yet known who will co-host Monday's This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub.
