Phillip Schofield was left ranting at This Morning viewers on Thursday as Spin to Win wrong, in the same week the game attracted widespread criticism.
As he and Holly returned from a near two month hiatus from presenting the show, due to their summer break, the hosts revealed an unexpected prize on the Spin to Win wheel, an offer for This Morning to pay callers' energy bills, with that then extended a day later to include all household bills as Phillip praised his ITV bosses for being "very generous."
This Morning's decision to include energy bills amongst the prizes on its daily game show was called out by some appalled viewers for being 'in bad taste, giving the huge concerns brought about by the cost of living crisis, while others said the offer highlighted the 'grim reality' of living in Britain rat this moment in time.

The bills prize had been scrapped by the time the Spin to Win wheel appeared on Wednesday's show and on Thursday there were only cash prizes once again, with a top amount of £2,000 up for grabs.
However, no-one won anything as Phillip and Holly's live game was plagued with problems from the get-go. Just after he reminded any viewers who entered that they must answer with the days pass phrase rather than 'hello', the first call went straight to the person's voicemail, before the second, a woman called Stephanie, failed miserably by answering 'Good morning.'
Matters didn't improve with caller number three with another answer phone message, before the next viewer after loads of ringing, answered with 'Hello.' The success of Thursday's Spin to Win rested on final caller Debbie and as she too greeted Phillip and Holly with a hello, he shouted: "Noooo! Who is that? Stay there," before she tried to get her words out and Phillip fired back: "That's not even the pass phrase! You're just saying something."
Debbie apologised, with Phillip telling her: "You know the rules," before spinning the wheel to find out what cash amount would be rolled over to Monday's show.
