This Morning's Phillip Schofield 'insults' co-star within seconds of show starting

Phillip Schofield had to do some serious backtracking after he 'insulted' one of his This Morning co-stars seconds into Thursday's show.

As he has been every day so far this week, Phillip was at the helm of the ITV daytime show alongside Holly Willoughby as the presenting duo took charge once again. Prior to cameras rolling on This Morning, Phillip and Holly had appeared right at the end of Lorraine as their ITV colleague crossed live to their studio from hers.

They teased that Steve Wilson was back on the show to test out the best barbecues available this summer, previewed an interview with actor Robert Glenister about his new drama Sherwood and added that Gok Wan would be joining them with a guide on 'how to dress like a royal.'

But it was another of the hots co-stars that was metres away from then after the This Morning titles rolled, chef Clodagh McKenna who was in the kitchen next to them. Phillip cut to Steve outside, declaring he had a 'License to Grill,' as Steve said he all manner of barbecues - charcoal, gas and portable and even a pizza oven to test out.

It was Holly who introduced Clodagh who told hem she'd be making a cream of broccoli risotto with mint and lemon, seeming very enthusiastic about the dish, telling the hosts: "Anyone can make it!"

Phillip then left Clodagh taken aback when he commented: "If you didn't have the whole thing, could have that as a side for your barbecue," to which she replied: "What are you saying that my risotto is a side dish?!"

Trying not to dig too big a hole for himself, Phillip quickly responded: "No, no, no!! If you didn't go for it as a full dish," as Clodagh conceded: "It is so delicious with barbecued chicken."

Sitting next to him, Holly quipped: "You got out of that one well," motioning a digging gesture, as Phillip replied: "I don't think I did actually!"
