This Morning's Phillip Schofield fuming at having to miss show again as Covid woe continues

Phillip Schofield was forced to miss This Morning again on Monday as his coronavirus woe continues and fans voiced their concerns.

Late last Monday night, the popular presenter took to Instagram to reveal he'd tested positive for Covid-19, posting a picture of a positive lateral flow test, along with the caption: "Well this is b***ocks."

After going into isolation, Phillip appeared in good spirits when he appeared on Tuesday's This Morning via video call from his home but he did admit to colleagues Alison Hammond and Rochelle Humes that there was a doubt if he would be able to host Sunday night's Dancing on Ice.

Phillip was still testing positive on Saturday, leading to Stephen Mulhern being called up to replace him. And, just as Stephen was gearing up to go live with Phillip's usual co-host Holly Willoughby, he returned to Instagram to reveal that he was still testing positive and would therefore have to miss Monday's This Morning.

He uploaded another LFT with two clear red lines and fumed: "This really is the day that keeps on giving," adding "Sorry @thismorning @holywilloughby," along with two sad emojis.

Both Holly and Stephen sent their best wishes to Phillip as they kicked off Dancing on Ice, as the host missed the show for the first time in its history and was forced to watch it at home.

There was more bad news for Phillip on Monday. As the clock ticked down to the first This Morning episode of the new week, he qas back on Instagram to reveal to his millions of followers that he was still testing positive.

He captioned the snap of the positive test: "Oh come on! This is getting so bloody dull now. I am seriously going out after this."

Phillip was replaced on Monday's This Morning by Alison Hammond, as fans of the show continue to flood Twitter with their opinions on who should be the ITV programme's main presenters.

After both presented at different times last week, many viewers are calling on bosses to give a Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay partnership a go, while others can't get enough of Alison.
