Phillip Schofield stepped in and' fixed' the outcome of a competition on This Morning after finding out that the person on the other end of the line was a NHS worker. And, rather than complaining, viewers at home applauded the presenter for his rule break.
Phillip and co-host Holy Willoughby were once again at the helm of the ITV show for the fourth day in a row, becoming involved in a clash with studio guest Bev Turner, over the crippling impact of the rising cost of living. The presenters also conducted a bizarre interview with a woman in love with an alien, before they took the reins on yet another game of Spin To Win.
This Morning's daily game show is prone to going wrong more often than not, whether it be from viewers entering not picking up their phone or answering but saying 'hello,' rather than giving the day's correct pass phrase. There have also been times in the past when Phillip and Holly have been accused of influencing the result and there were allegations of that ilk levelled at Phillip on Thursday.

Phillip and Holly had rang a viewer by the name of Patrick, a NHS worker, who was very excited about being on the show. And it looked like his enthusiasm and his occupation rubbed off on Phillip as, after Patrick had chosen the wheel over Holly's balls, Phillip told him: "Patrick. Just keep an eye on your telly, there'll be delay...but I've got it now! I've figured this out, just watch Patrick.
As Patrick waited on the line, Phillip spun the wheel as it went past various amounts like £1000 and £800 as the host shouted: "IT's extraordinary, it's incredible," before coming to a sudden stop on the top prize of £3000.
As Holly looked dubious and waggled her finger at Phillip, Patrick could he heard exclaiming: "Oh my god!" as Phillip told him: "You've won three grand!"
While viewers at home, just like Holly, realised Phillip had swung it for Patrick to win, they had no complaints about the outcome. Taking to Twitter, one reacted: "Absolutely BRILLIANT ‘Spin To Win’ today with NHS worker Patrick! Well done Phil with the wheel! Absolutely heartwarming!" Backing Patrick's windfall, a second tweeted: "spin to win OMG I m still teary eyed over a Patrick."
Twitter was awash wit positive reactions to Patrick, who also offered to be a male model on the show, highlighting they needed to do more men's fashion coverage. Another fan posted: "Omg im in love WITH PATRICK. His win and his offer to be a model made my dayyyyyy...well done Phil and holly," with a fourth responding: "Patrick in this morning is totally melting my heart. I can’t."
