This Morning's Phillip Schofield appears on show after Covid woe and raises Dancing on Ice fears

Phillip Schofield still appeared on Tuesday's This Morning after the show was thrown into chaos the night before after he tested positive for coronavirus.

After he presented the ITV daytime programme alongside Rochelle Humes on Monday, viewers were fully expected to see Phillip back in the studio on Tuesday.

However, late on Monday night, he broke the news that he'd tested positive for Covid on a lateral flow.

Phillip posted a picture of the test with two red lines on and captioned it: "Well b***ocks," before adding: "Currently just a slight sore throat."

Alison Hammond was called up to stand in for Phillip and, as she joined Rochelle on screen, This Morning opened with a chorus of girl power anthem Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves.

Both Rochelle and Alison seemed very upbeat at the last minute hosting change and then crossed live to Phillip in isolation to find out how he was.

He told his co-stars he "didn't even have a sore throat anymore," before adding that, apart from having a slight temperature, he felt totally fine.

He did express concerns that it was touch and go as to whether he'd be able to host Sunday's Dancing on Ice, with him requiring to test negative on days 5 and 6 to be released from isolation in time to host Sunday's live show.

Rochelle explained that after finding out Phillip had tested positive, she took a test and was negative, while promising Phillip that she and Alison would 'keep This Morning on air' after Alison joked that he had put orange juice on his test to get some time off the show.
