This Morning's Lisa Snowdon in tears as she shares experience with menopause

This Morning star Lisa Snowdon shared an 'honest and open' update on her struggles with menopause.

The 50-year-old and her doctor, Naomi Potter, did an Instagram Live recently where they discussed what it's like in a bid to break taboos around the topic.

She started hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to help her and told her Instagram followers that it's okay to struggle with it.

Lisa said that talking about her experiences has 'saved her' but admitted she has been 'struggling' lately.

"I've been honest on these chats to talk about the fact that it has really saved me and helped me, and it's been a game-changer but I have been struggling recently," the star said.

"I thought let's get Naomi on and let's be brutally honest about the fact that it isn't always as simple as get on your HRT and you're going to be fine."

The presenter added: "I think I'm probably going to get a bit emotional today because it has been hard this weekend and I've been an absolute cow to George."

Many of her followers have shared their experiences with her, including the 'rages' that they get.

"These uncontrollable rages that you just turn into somebody else," Lisa continued. "It's horrible."

She went on to tell her doctor that she is 'lucky' to have her. Lisa added that she is lucky she also has her fiancé George Smart supporting her.

"I just want to reach out and say that it is really hard," Lisa said. "I know so many people that are struggling and I've been so open on this platform and also very upbeat... "

Lisa posted the video as part of her 'Midweek Menopause Madness' series.

"Thank you for all your continued support," she captioned the post. "It’s a rollercoaster and sometimes depending on lifestyle changes, stress, world events, illness, life in general the darkness and sadness hits me/us.

"In times like these it’s good to share, it’s good to talk, it’s also good to reevaluate what might be the triggers, looking at diet, and also making sure we move!"

Her followers took to the comment section to thank the star for opening up on her experiences, with some telling her it made them feel 'less alone'.

Many also sent their love and hugs as her followers banded together to support the star as she struggles through menopause.
