TV presenter Josie Gibson always puts on a show while presenting This Morning, but the star has now revealed she feels nervous “all the time, every time” while on-screen.
The Big Brother 2010 winner says she feels anxiety each time she presents on TV and even calls her pals, including Alison Hammond, to help calm her down.
She says the emotional support from her friends is what gets her “through it” and that the phone calls give her “the confidence” to present on live TV.
Speaking to OK! about feeling confident on TV, she said: “I feel nervous all the time, every time.
“Sometimes I phone Alison [Hammond] or my friend Vicky and they have to calm me down.
“But what gets me through is that I feel so grateful to be there. I’m eternally grateful, so that’s probably what gives me the confidence to do it.
“If you’re lucky enough to be given that great opportunity, you’ve got to give it your all.”
The 37-year-old single mum has not only won over fans with her infectious Bristolian accent, she’s had the likes of Sienna Miller and Rupert Friend in fits of giggles on This Morning.
Listing her favourite guests, she included Spider-Man Tom Holland, Jennifer Aniston and Reece Witherspoon.
She said they “were so lovely” and that she was “fangirling” during the interviews after getting herself “into a fluster”.
Josie says the she immediately felt at ease when Jenniefer and Reece started doing a Bristolian accent.
“When they started doing that they put me at ease, they were really funny,” she said.
Speaking of advice she would give herself 10 years ago, Josie said she would explain that “everything will always be alright in the end”.
She would also tell herself to “stop being heartbroken over people that don’t deserve to be heartbroken about” and to “just get over it, get over yourself”.
Josie has son Reggie-James, who she shares with ex-partner Terry. She welcomed the little one in 2018 and broke up with Terry just four months after their son was born.
Earlier this month, Josie, who has just launched a fashion edit with Very.co.uk, told The Mirror how she juggled working life with spending time with her son.
"My weekend starts with cuddles with my son Reggie," she said.
"If I’ve got energy after working I’ll cook a meal, but we love going to David Lloyd for some food – it’s walking distance from our house. Then we’ll lie on the sofa, watch a film and snuggle."
The This Morning presenter also admitted that while she enjoys spending quality time with her son, it rarely is relaxing. "Reggie is only three so I never get a lie-in – not even on weekends," she said.
"We’re always up early but we just like to chill at the weekends. It’s Reggie time – we do whatever he wants to do, which usually includes eating out!
"We live in Bristol but we love going out in Bath and we always have a roast dinner on a Sunday. We tend to go out for it, but I do cook a very good roast dinner."
