This Morning's Josie Gibson shares simple steps to her incredible weight loss

Josie Gibson has become a firm favourite on ITV's daytime television show This Morning, which she presented over the Christmas period with Craig Doyle, and since joining the programme in 2019, has earnt herself a loyal following with her positive energy, down to earth nature and playfulness. But alongside her presenting, Josie, who first burst onto the scene in 2010 appearing on and winning Big Brother, has become somewhat of an inspirational figure to those wanting to lose a few extra pounds too thanks to her incredible weight loss transformations over the years.

As reported by The Express, in 2012 she dropped an amazing six stone following her television debut, going from a size 20 to a size eight. In 2016 she had surgery to remove excess skin following her weight loss, and last year, she unveiled another transformation going from a size 18 to a size 14 after gaining weight following the birth of her son, Reggie.

She has even released a number of diet books and DVDs in the last decade. After switching up her lifestyle, she shared a new look on social media last year, which wowed her fans. But how did she do it?

It seems she has done it through a combination of "healthy eating and exercise", which was spurred on by her now four-year-old son. Last year, she tasked herself with new health goals that included improving her sleeping pattern, drinking more water and doing 30-45 minutes of exercise at least three times a week.

Speaking in a video to her Instagram in 2021, the Bristolian television personality, who is a Weight Watchers ambassador, revealed that stress had caused her to gain weight during lockdown and saw her go up to a size 18. In the video, as the Dail Mail reported, Josie was seen trying on a pair of size 14 jeans which she "squeezed" into, jumping for joy and claiming she was "so happy".

Speaking of this former weight gain - and subsequent weight loss - Josie told fans: "Hello guys, I cannot tell you how happy I am. You know, all these lockdowns, the pandemic has been very stressful.

'How I handle stress is I eat. I've always done it and I went up to a size 18. You just get to the point where you look in the mirror and don't even recognise who you're looking at anymore." After taking on a more healthy lifestyle with a WW - formerly Weight Watchers - plan, she has dubbed it "the best decision" she has ever made.

After putting on "around four and a half stone" whilst pregnant with Reggie Josie told The Sun that she had been losing weight "slowly" and not putting too much pressure on herself.

She told the publication of her svelte figure: "I have done it [losing weight] much more slowly this time, because I was so militant before. I can’t believe I got back up (to that weight) again, I never thought I’d get there, it’s really not good on your body. It just creeps up and before you know it you’re like ‘s*** what have I done?’

"Everyone knows what they need to do. It’s about putting the right foods in your body and being accountable about it. Sometimes I’m not the best at that, I’ve been fluctuating between a size 14 and a 16 lately. But it’s just being accountable for it while not putting too much pressure on yourself, because there’s too much pressure in life as it is."

She added of why she teamed up with WW: "I got involved (with WW) because I literally could not catch my little man. He’s so fast and he was running away, so I knew I had to do something. Now I can catch him and feel much fitter and healthier. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still got a bit to go, but I'm enjoying the journey."

She also explained that while there was some extra weight she wanted to shift, if she were "to imagine it as one huge goal, it would put me off".

By switching up her food intake - consuming less "stodge" and "making foods from as much zero points [a WW plan] as I can" - and partaking in home workouts, the TV star is looking and feeling more fabulous than ever.

She previously said: "I was eating a lot a stodge before, but I can’t tell you the difference it’s made to my energy. I can get up and go. I’m actually waking up in the morning with a spring in my step – it’s been great, and I’m faster."

And while the weight loss certainly has her glowing, she credits her little boy for the major boost in body confidence.

She told The Sun: "I think after I had Reggie, my little one is four-years-old now, I was instantly more body confident because your body has done something so spectacular, you can't do anything but love it... After I had Reg I was always more body confident anyway whatever size."
