This Morning's Josie Gibson replaces Holly Willoughby after fans call for new job

Josie Gibson was back on This Morning on Monday morning, replacing Holly Willoughby, after the popular host tested positive for coronavirus.

With just hours to go until Dancing on Ice 's semi final on Sunday, a spokesperson for the ITV show confirmed that Holly had contracted Covid and, as a result, would miss the show.

Rather than replace her, like bosses did when Phillip Schofield had Covid, replacing him with Stephen Mulhern; Phillip hosted the show alone.

But the host wasn't alone as cameras rolled on Monday's This Morning as fan favourite Josie sat next to him in the studio.

And Josie's appearance came after plenty of ITV viewers were left upset she wasn't given the chance to prove herself on Dancing on Ice.

Watching Phillip front the show solo, one viewer took to Twitter to write: "Would have been good to see Josie Gibson hosting with Phil tonight," with another reacting: "Bring in Rochelle or Josie rather than have to listen to Phil for the duration!"

A third wrote: "I would LOVE to see Josie Gibson do #DancingOnIce "

Also throwing Alison Hammond's name into the ring, another posted: "Think if Alison did it, it would be hi larious. Love Josie too. They wouldn't have time to rehearse though."

At the end of Sunday's Dancing on Ice, Phillip confirmed that this year's final is being delayed by a week due to ITV showing live coverage of the FA Cup Quarter Final.

The announcement came after a backlash against ITV for cancelling this week's Saturday Night Takeaway and Starstruck to make way for Six Nations rugby.
