Josie Gibson suffered a major wardrobe malfunction while learning how to be a mermaid on This Morning today (May 31). In celebration of the new live-action The Little Mermaid remake from Disney, the presenter became a mermaid for the morning, swapping her legs for a shiny blue tail.
As Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary watched on from the This Morning set in London, Josie appeared via video link from a "mermaid cove" in Worcestershire. After hearing that it was "better down where it's wetter", bubbly Bristolian Josie wore a bright blue bathing suit, completing her look with a shell bra as she flaunted her brand new tail.
But despite looking amazing as a mermaid, Josie struggled to adapt to her temporary lifestyle. "Dermot, Alison - I'm beginning to realise why Ariel wanted legs," she said, as she found it hard to sit up.

"It's quite difficult to get on but Lisa here is doing the finishing touches to my fin."
As Josie went around the pool and introduced Alison, Dermot and This Morning viewers to her mermaid instructors, the former Big Brother winner suffered a slight wardobe malfunction. "Oh no, my shell fell off!" she exclaimed.
"What's that?" A smiling Alison asked. "What did you say?"
Josie replied: "That was my bra! My bra fell off."
Alison and Dermot were in hysterics as Josie scrambled around to find the shells and cover herself back up. A laughing Alison told Josie: "Just keep those shells on, that's all I'm going to say to you."
Despite losing her bra, Josie quickly submerged herself in the mermaid lifestyle, acing the moves as she performed an "undulating movement" with her tail. She looked graceful as she emerged from the water, her blonde hair slicked back from the water.
As Alison and Dermot said goodbye to Josie, Alison said to her co-star: "The moment where she went under the water and came back up, she looked so beautiful and all her hair's back.
"She's the most beautiful mermaid I've ever seen. Where do I get one of those flippers from?"
Alison and Dermot are currently presenting This Morning as Holly Willoughby takes a break from the show following Phillip Schofield's departure. Holly is expected to return to the This Morning sofa on Monday, June 5, although GB News host Eamonn Holmes has suggested that she should follow Phillip "out the door".
