This Morning's Josie Gibson delivers honest verdict on ITV colleagues ahead of return to show

Josie Gibson has spilled the beans to give an honest verdict on her This Morning co-stars ahead of her return to the show in just a few days time.

The former Big Brother winner, who triumphed on the programme nearly 12 years ago now, has proved to be a big hit with ITV viewers. Already a contributor on This Morning thanks to her roving reporting, which has got her into a number of unfortunate situations and Dosh on Your Doorstep, over the past year Josie has been given a chance to step up a be main host on the daytime programme.

Her most unexpected opportunity to front the show came when Holly Willoughby fell ill towards the end of last year, with Josie called in at the last minute to stand in, while she was on her way to another job. Many viewers loved her chemistry with Phillip Schofield and also enjoyed her on screen camaraderie with Vernon Kay when the two have had the chance to present together.

After Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary have taken the reins this week, Josie and Vernon will present This Morning for the majority of next week as Phillip and Holly continue their Easter break. And, ahead of her return to screens, Josie has opened up about her relationship with her colleagues.

Fans suggested that Josie looked 'nervous,' when hosting with Phillip, but shutting that suggestion down, she said: "So Phil, he is really funny. We often see 'presenter Phil' and sometimes I wish people would see more of 'the Phil' because he's bloody hilarious!

"He's also very gentle and he's really caring. When I had an ear infection, he was always checking up on me asking if I was alright - he's just lovely.

Moving onto Dermot, who she's only had fleeting appearances with, Josie commented: "I love Dermot, too. He was also so caring and thoughtful, and really is one of the nicest blokes in the business."

On the topic of Alison, who Josie spent Christmas Day with last year, she continued: "Alison, well, she’s just my mate ain’t she? I just love her to bits. She brings the party, she's the energy, she’s the scream and she just lights up a room as far as I’m concerned."

This Morning viewers want to see more of a Josie and Holly double act and discussing the Dancing on Ice star, Josie said: "Holly oh my goodness, what an amazing broadcaster she is. She is just effortless. I was in awe of her. But she is a real girls’ girl - and so is Alison - and they’ve both helped me."

And, finally, talking about next week's presenter partner in crime Vernon, Josie added: "He really loves the show, really gets the show and I love his northern twang. I love listening to those northern tones, he’s really funny, and he loves the fact that his nan watches and all his family watch the show. He’s just the bee's knees!"
