Josie Gibson was quickly defended by her This Morning co-host Dermot O'Leary, after being insulted by guest Gyles Brandreth on Monday'. And many viewers were also offended on Josie's behalf, on her first day of another stint as the show's main presenter.
Last week it was announced by ITV bosses that Josie and Dermot would get another opportunity to team up as the daytime programme's main presenters, as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take a break for half term. News of them taking over for a week was welcomed by many This Morning fans, especially those who've been backing Josie for a full time role, ever since she was called in expectedly in 2021 to step in for a poorly Holly.
Appearing as a guest on Friday's Loose Women, ex Big Brother winner Josie admitted she was slightly nervous about going back to the studio, due to what so got up at colleague Alison's Hammond's recent birthday party, confessing that she 'lost' three hours and was avoiding all video evidence.

There were no signs of nerves from Josie as she and Dermot kicked off Monday's This Morning, with Josie looking striking in a bright yellow dress. However, while viewers at home lapped up Josie's look, regular studio guest Gyles attempted to rain on her parade by turning to her and saying 'you look like a post-it note.'
Sending some embrassmwent from Josie, DErmot reached over to console her and quipped: ""If anyone wants to write anything on Josie, now is the time".
Josie then asked him: "I don't look like a post-it note, do I?" Dermot replied: "Gyles said that? No, you don't" before he then gestured to the camera at her expense and joked that she did "a little bit".
Unimpressed This Morning viewers at home took exception with Gyles comment, with one taking to Twitter to react: "I was literally just thinking how good Josie looks and Gyles says that. She's beautiful". While not using the same insult as Gyles, another viewer was also far from complimentary, tweeting: "Josie looks like she should be on School Crossing Patrol wearing that much Yellow!"
