This Morning's Holly Willoughby voices grave concerns for guest as she urges them to 'stay safe'

Holly Willoughby voiced grave concerns for This Morning guest Raphael Rowe as he joined her and Phillip Schofield in the studio, urging him to 'stay safe' in the closing moments of the interview.

As viewers remain torn on their This Morning future, Holly and Phillip were at the helm of another episode of the popular ITV daytime programme on Wednesday and were joined by Raphael, the man wrongly convicted of murder in 1999 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Raphael always maintained his innocence and 12 years later his conviction was overturned and he was released. However, despite his unjust and fraught time behind bars, Raphael has been no stranger to jail since his release and now fronts hit Netflix show Inside the World's Toughest Prisons. The show sees him travel across the globe to look at what life is like for inmates and staff at some of the most notorious prisons on the planet and the regimes in force inside them.

Raphael spoke to Phillip and Holly about his battle to prove his innocence, having 'refused' the prison regime and being left with 'the scars to prove it,' prompting Phillip to ask: "Why would you go back?" Giving a candid response, Raphael told the host: "Because what I witnessed, what I experienced...nobody saw; nobody witnessed or saw what I experienced. So I wanted to take people into a world, this 'secret' world of prisons and show what is really like in prisons."

He added: "It's not about sensationalising violence or drugs; that's evidence in prisons, we know that because we see it in programmes and on the news all the time."

Raphael then explained the highly dangerous filming process of Inside the World's Toughest Prisons, which sixth season is on Netflix now and having to share prison cells with convicted killers and crime bosses and the risk of being targeted by the inmates he comes into contact with. That prompted Holly to issue a very genuine plea to him as the interview came to a close as she looked directly at him and said: "Well stay safe you, as I know you'll be doing more."
