Holly Willoughby said she floundered when she first joined This Morning, thinking she was an "wasn't up to" hosting.
Holly, who is now a much loved face of the show at the age of 41, initially joined the ITV programme in 2009.
And she recalls her 'dreadful' interview with Scottish born Prime Minister Gordon Brown soon after she made her first appearance.
More than ten years on she says she suffered "imposter syndrome" and wanted Phillip Schofield, now 60, to lead any interviews with politicians, reports the Mirror.
Holly told The Daily Mail Weekend Magazine about her interview with Gordon Brown saying:
"I was dreadful. The worst thing was that so many people in the industry had said I couldn't do that job. I wanted to prove myself," she said.
"When it came to the interview, I was trying to read out questions from the script, I was saying words I didn't even understand, mangling up sentences and completely floundering. I was awful.
Various critics had said, "She'll be OK with the fluffy fashion pieces but how will she do a serious political interview?" And they were right. Presenting that show is about being able to do everything from light to serious. I wasn't up to the job."
Holly said people thought she would be fine with "fluffy fashion pieces" but not any serious political interviews, and added: "They were right."
And although she was "incredibly grateful" she "never really [felt] good enough."
She remembered having "massive imposter syndrome" but now concedes she knows her strengths and that she "will never be perfect as a presenter" but has to "trust" in herself more.
